The Chrisp Street Wall artwork was commissioned by Eastenders Pie & Mash and Poplar Harca. Pie & Mash shop owner Brian wanted something to contribute to the local community and show the history of the Chrisp Street market through the ages.

We were asked to include imagery such as Chrisp Street Market, the docks and Canary Wharf in a timeless way that represents the past as much as the present modern times. We were able to make this work with a visually pleasing colour scheme and modern aesthetic with George Lansbury taking centre stage, a local hero and politician who promoted social justice, women’s rights and world disarmament.

The result was a large artwork that dominated a large space of the vibrant market square, bringing more colour and creativity to the local community.
